BOARD MEMBERS
The Westlake Baseball League (WBL) is a non-profit organization that was founded in 1958 and is dedicated to the encouragement and development of co-ed youth baseball in Pre-K through 12th grade in Westlake, Ohio.
The WBL is not affiliated with any other organization and is independent of the Westlake Recreation Department.
Westlake Baseball League is supported by the generosity of the City of Westlake who donate field usage to our program. Please remember that All WBL board members and team coaches are volunteers.
Costs and divisions info
Co-ed players currently in Pre-Kindergarten & Kindergarten.
Practice schedule will have roughly 2 practices per week (no set day, rotates) beginning April 2024 and Games will start in May.
*12 Games will be scheduled. Practices & games will be held on local Westlake baseball fields. Full team schedule will be on "TeamSnap" (app via Play Store) and on the WBL website once the season starts. Games will be played on Mon-Fri evenings from 6-7pm or 7-8 pm, as well as various times on Saturdays.
*Possible Sunday practice depending on field availability.
2 – 3 coaches may coach together. Their kids/players will automatically be put on a team and the rest of the team will be assembled by your Commissioner.
“WAIT-LIST” PROCESS"
If you try to register for a league which is full, you will be placed on a wait-list and no payment is collected at that time. If a roster spot becomes available prior to the start of the season, the league commissioner will invite you via email to complete your registration on the registration site and make payment at that time. If you complete your registration with payment in full within 72 hours, the player will be placed on a team. If no roster positions become available, all wait-list persons will be notified by email at the start of the season.
All start and end season dates are approximations and subject to change. The number of scheduled games is approximate and subject to change depending on participation and weather.
*LATE REGISTRATIONS*
All late registrations are subject to a non-refundable $20.00 late registration fee per player. Due to team capacity limitations, every attempt is made to place late registrations, but it is not guaranteed. Please sign-up early and don’t miss out!

Early Bird REC Registration runs Feb. 3rd – March 14 at 11:59pm.

Scholarship Guidelines
Westlake Baseball League Scholarship Guidelines
Westlake Baseball League offers an annual scholarship of $500.00 (plus any additional parent donations to our WBL scholarship) to a graduating senior of Westlake High School at the annual scholarship awards night in May.
Applicants must meet the following to apply:
- Played in Westlake Baseball League at least 4 years/seasons (list years played)
- Currently on the Westlake High School Varsity Baseball team.
- Attending college in the fall. (Scholarship helps offset the cost of college)
The WBL Scholarship is based on a combination of Head Coach Larry Mosley’s recommendation based on leadership, respect, and dedication on and off the baseball field and the examples you provide in the written portion.
To apply for the Westlake Baseball League Scholarship, please confirm you meet the above 3 criteria and submit a detailed page on why you deserve our annual scholarship. Please provide specific examples/stories on some of these topics:
- development as a baseball player and a person
- positive communication with a teammate and/or coach
- respect for another player (on your team or an opposing team)
- handling adversity during the season
- volunteering within our organization
- include any special awards or achievements you have attained academically, athletically or in the community.
